Peninsula Fellows is based in Yorktown, Virginia, part of the historic triangle of Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown and the greater Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
Known for its beautiful waterways, the Peninsula region of Virginia is also a business and research hub. It is the home of the Thomas Jefferson Nuclear Accelerator Facility and NASA Langley Research Center. Canon, Alion Science and Technology, Triumph Aerospace Systems, and C2 Technologies are but a few of the high-tech companies located here. The larger employers on the Peninsula include Canon, Newport News Shipbuilding (where America's aircraft carriers and submarines are built), Riverside and Sentara Health Systems, and the U.S. Department of Defense. The economy is balanced between manufacturing, defense, research, technology, education, healthcare, finance, and office-based industries.
